Yankee's Trademark Rights: The Evil Empire

It's official -- the Yankees are "Baseball's Evil Empire." At least, as far as clothing is concerned. In a February Trademark Trials and Appeals Board (TTAB, for us TM nerds) decision, the court ruled that the New York Yankees Partnership does in fact have trademark rights in the phrase, citing that the public (including sports commentators, blogs, newspapers and fans) consistently refer to the team as such.
