PROFESSIONAL PASSIONS
Business and contract law are where I focus my practice. These areas include entity formation and team structuring, contract review and drafting, business transactions, and outside general counsel activities. I work with business owners, whether startup, established, or independent to manage legal issues that arise for their businesses as they grow and evolve. I particularly like the challenge of implementing new business models, such as sustainable and social enterprise models, employee owned cooperatives, nontraditional industries, as well as working through the atypical business deals.
As part of supporting business owners I include community engagement as part of my mission for New Leaf. I serve on the Board of Director’s for Cambridge Local First, the Central Square Business Association, and the Somerville Chamber of Commerce. I am a co-organizer for Women in Cambridge, an ambassador for the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce and provide free officer hours, consultations, and workshops for Venture Café, the City of Cambridge, the Center for Women in Enterprise, and Future Boston. Working with these organizations allows me to provide support and advocacy for my clients far beyond the legal work we do together. As it turns out, I am a serial entrepreneur myself, aside from New Leaf, I am the Co-Owner of Undiscovered Kitchen. A digital farmer’s market connecting foodies with products from small batch artisan food producers.
PERSONAL LIFE
As for when you see me out of the office, I am a huge Foodie! I live to eat. Whether I’m hitting my favorite restaurants or experimenting in my kitchen, I love indulging in all that is organic and local. I am a big wine and whiskey fan and I enjoy attending tastings and learning as much as I can about all things vino and peated. I am also a big movie buff and a bit of a sci-fi geek. You may find me cuddling up with my cats and a book, obsessing over music and Doctor Who, or watching horror films and supernatural themed tv shows with my dog (he loves the scary stuff).
